Jackson Announces New Six And Seven String SLAT X-Series Models

Jackson guitars announced this week the addition of new six and seven string SLAT models from their ever-popular and affordable "X-Series", rumored to available next month.

The new guitars — which will be available in four six string models and two seven string versions — feature a carved top, basswood body with a quilted maple top and three-piece through-body maple neck with graphite reinforcement for stability. Additionally, the six string models will come stock with the famous EMG 81 & 85 pickup combination, while the seven string models will feature a pair of EMG 707 pickups. Available colors will include transparent black (pictured below), transparent red (pictured above), transparent amber sunburst and sky blue, among others.

As for the famous fast Jackson neck, the guitars have a bound compound radius (12"-16") rosewood fingerboard with signature piranha pearloid inlays, 24 jumbo frets, 26.5" scale and a Floyd Rose Special bridge. For the players who prefer guitars without tremolos, the series will also be available in string-through models with a Tone Pros tune-o-matic bridge.

While no exact date has been formally announced for the upcoming release, the seven string models are expected to drop with a street price of $699.99 through $849.99.
