Avenged Sevenfold Working On New Album; Six Songs Written Since August

Metal chart-toppers Avenged Sevenfold will continue on making music after all, following the tragic passing of drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan in 2009.

Singer M. Shadows recently told The Pulse of Radio (excerpted by Blabbermouth) that the band has been working on new material since August and his half a dozen songs ready to go.

“I try not to say too much about the album because you know how the Internet world is, so I’ll just say this: We have a direction, we’re sticking to that direction and we feel really very happy writing in these terms that we’ve laid out for ourselves," said Shadows.

He went on to add, “The album is coming along very nicely. We’re excited to get in the studio. We have about six songs that I’m really happy with right now, and we’re continuing to write every single day.”

The band recently released a new track titled "Carry On" for the recently-released video game 'Call of Duty: Black Opps II', which features new drummer Arin Ilejay, formerly of the Los Angeles metalcore band Confide.
