Dream Theater Wraps Up Recording On New Album

Dream Theater has officially wrapped up the recording phase of its forthcoming album.

Guitarist John Petrucci offered a brief update via his Facebook page on Friday, noting "DT album is officially wrapped. Looking forward to the mix!"

The album — expected to be released this summer under Roadrunner Records — will mark the follow-up to Dream Theater's Grammy-nominated release A Dramatic Turn Of Events, which debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200 chart in 2011.

While no title has been announced for the upcoming album, the tracks will be the first to involve writing input from drummer Mike Mangini, who was recruited by the band leading up to the recording of A Dramatic Turn Of Events.

Dream Theater will also release a live CD and DVD set this November titled Live At Luna Park. Live At Luna Park contains the 160-minute main show accompanied by a wealth of bonus material. All tracks from their A Dramatic Turn Of Events album are included, in either the main show or the bonus features. This title features many of Dream Theater’sclassic tracks including: “Metropolis Pt. 1”, “The Silent Man”, “Pull Me Under”, “The Root Of All Evil”, “The Test That Stumped Them All”, “The Spirit Carries On” and the recent “On The Backs Of Angels”.

Live At Luna Park is available in North America November 5th as Blu-Ray, 2DVD, 2DVD + 3CD, Blu-Ray + 3CD, Deluxe Edition with 40 page Book, Blu-Ray + 2DVD + 3CD, Digital Video via I-Tunes.
